As a Software Test Engineer Medical Applications at itemedical, you will continuously be working on improving the quality of our medical software. The software we develop is designed for any hospital department with patient-linked devices, including an intensive care unit (ICU). It communicates with all kinds of bedside medical devices, such as patient monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and dialysis machines. Alarms and other information are forwarded for critical medical purposes, as well as for management or scientific research.

Our focus is the optimization of clinical alarm management. The solution reduces the response time to critical alarms, while addressing alarm fatigue. It comprises a web application with custom Analytics possibilities, Windows services, medical device emulators and a mobile app.

In your position as a Software Test Engineer Medical Applications you will become part of our Research & Development team, consisting of development and test specialists. You will work in accordance with Agile Scrum, following a risk-based approach, conform medical device standards (including ISO 13485:2016).

Your main responsibility is composing, maintaining, and executing tests based on requirements. You identify issues with a clear reproduction scenario. Further, you will specialize in test automation, performance tests, usability tests, and/or cybersecurity vulnerability detection.

What we would like to see in your professional profile:

  • University education (PhD, Master, or equivalent);
  • Experience with databases, preferably SQL;
  • Affinity with accurately testing complex systems;
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team;
  • Knowledge of test automation;
  • Fluent in English, Dutch is an advantage;
  • You are available at least 32 hours per week;
  • Knowledge of applicable standards, HL7, TMAP, or ISTQB is considered an advantage.

Test tools, techniques and languages we work with:

  • Selenium, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Windows Server, Visual Studio, IIS, .NET, C#, OWASP ZAP, Jira, Wireshark, unit tests.
